 Mathematics in Year 7 and 8 aims to provide a good grounding for students to achieve at GCSE. Students will experience a broad range of teaching styles and activities so they can fully engage in the maths that they will experience. They will be taught a range of topics from all four strands of the curriculum:

Number:  Algebra:  Geometry and Measure and Statistics.  Students wll become familiar with calculator and non-calculator methods for calculations and will hopefully feel confident in their own ability. Students are placed in sets according to their ability in order to gain the most out of their maths experience. Sets are reviewed regularly to ensure students are continually challenged in the group which they are in. Homework booklets form a regular part of Year 7 and 8 learning and will be set on a weekly basis.

Final Examination x 3:   Paper 1 - Calculator - 33%        Paper 2 - Non Calculator - 33%      Paper 3 - Calculator - 33% (2017 Onwards)
