Easington Academy was allocated £11,500 for 2015/2016

 Objectives:

  • To narrow the gap by providing intensive literacy and numeracy support and raise the attainment of those students entitle to Catch Up Premium
  • To raise self-esteem and aspirations of students entitled to the Catch Up Premium
  • To identify concernes and target intervention and support to acceletate progress  

These funds were used to target additional support strategies: Small group classes: Additional LSA support: Homework Clubs: Increased capacity in English & Maths: One to one Reading eg. Toe by toe reading programme: One to one Numeracy eg Plus one numeracy programme: E-learning Nessy Spelling programme: One to one Phonics programme - Lexia

Impact: The overall picture July 2016: For the number of students eligible for the Catch Up Premium in English 84% made progress against their target grade by the end of the academic year. For the number of students eligible for the Catch Up Premium in Mathematics 68% made progress againt their target grade by the end of the academic year.
